Confident man in a suit with striped tie outdoors.

William E. Woods is a Kentucky native, and Chief Operating Officer of an Indiana based Luxury Transportation Company.

Born in Fort Thomas on February 7, 1988 - Woods has lived in Boone County for more than three decades.

A lifelong advocate for practical, people-centered leadership, Woods entered the 2019 gubernatorial race as a Republican; challenging sitting Governor Matt Bevin by standing up to Bevin's blatant bigotry, and ineffective leadership.

With a commitment to government accountability, fiscal responsibility, public education, and protecting the interests of working Kentuckians, Woods stood strong against the leading candidate, putting his support behind Democratic Nominee Andy Beshear - affirming he will always put Kentucky's Citizens over loyalty to a political party.

Beshear became Kentucky's Governor by one of the smallest margins in history.

Woods later turned down an offer to serve in the Beshear Administration, stating his endorsement of Beshear was based on principle, not political ambition.

Woods, 38, has spent the majority of his career in business management, specifically government-regulated organizations.  He has been responsible for multi-million dollar contracts, hundreds of employees, and the financial efficacy of businesses with gross receipts exceeding $40 million dollars annually.  For several years, Woods was contracted to manage the Physical Security at DHL's CVG Hub, where he also led a team that worked to prevent Drugs, Explosives and other contraband from making their way to civilian passenger flights.

As part of his duties, he oversaw the roll out of the Government-Regulated Certified Cargo Screening Program (CCSP) at additional US locations, including New York, Oregon, Texas, Louisiana, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

Woods brings a diverse range of real-world experience to public policy discussions.  Known for his independent thinking and a willingness to challenge political orthodoxy, he focuses on issues including economic opportunity, pension security, healthcare access, and government reform.

That reform includes his goal of legislation mandating term limits on all elected offices.

Should he be elected, Woods promises a two-term limit.

Common-sense solutions, transparency, and respectful leadership that puts citizens ahead of partisan politics is his ultimate goal.

Today, Woods remains committed to civic engagement and encouraging thoughtful dialogue about Kentucky’s future, guided by the belief that effective leadership begins with listening to the people and working toward solutions that benefit all Kentuckians.
